Please read the contents of this file as it contains
important information about installing and using Best
Math Program Ever.
Important Technical Information
====================================================
INSTALLATION
In order to run this software on your PC, it must be
installed onto your system. When installed, Best Math
Program Ever creates a folder on your hard drive
called "Best Math Program Ever" which holds 8 MB of
data.
To install Best Math Program Ever:
Windows 3.1 users (IBM & Compatibles):
1. Put the Best Math Program Ever CD into your
CD-ROM drive.
2. From the Program Manager File Menu choose Run.
3. Type D:\INSTALL.EXE where D is the letter for your
CD-ROM. If you are using a letter other than D,
substitute that letter instead.
4. Follow the onscreen prompts to install the program
to your hard drive.
Once you have successfully installed Best Math
Program Ever, you can start the software at any time
by double-clicking on the "Best Math Program Ever"
icon in the "Best Math Program Ever" program group in
your Program Manager.
Windows 95 users (IBM & Compatibles):
If you have Autoplay enabled, simple put the Best Math
Program Ever CD into your CD-ROM drive and select
Install. Follow the onscreen prompts to install the
program to your hard drive.
If you do not have Autoplay enabled, put the Best Math
Program Ever CD into your CD-ROM drive. From the Start
menu select Run. Type D:\INSTALL where D is the letter
for your CD-ROM. If you are using a letter other than
D, substitute that letter instead. Choose Install and
follow the onscreen prompts to install the program to
your hard drive.
Once you have successfully installed Best Math Program
Ever, the program will start automatically when you
insert the CD-ROM. It can also be played at any time
by going to "Programs" from the Start menu on the task
bar. From the "Programs" menu, select "Best Math Program
Ever" and then "Best Math Program Ever".
To prevent the program from starting automatically,
hold down the shift key when inserting the Best Math
Program Ever CD into the CD-ROM drive.
SAVING
Each time your child plays with Best Math Program Ever,
he or she needs to sign-in using the same name or
initial. Younger children might find it easier to use
the first initial of their names. Older children might
want to use their full names. In either case, the
program saves the game session with the name entered
at the start. When children return to the game, they
must use the same name to revisit a previously saved
game. More than one child can enjoy this program. To
do so, be sure each child uses a unique name to save
his or her game.
QUITTING
In order to have the program properly save information,
you must quit the program by clicking the exit button
in the Mathmobile. Quitting using Alt-F4 or any other
method may cause an error. If you quit by any other
method it is best to restart your computer.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Monitors
If you get a General Protection Fault when you first
click on the "Best Math Program Ever" icon, you may
have to change your display settings to 65,000 colors.
You either change the display settings in Windows Setup (In
the Main program group) or in the control panel that
came with your video card.
Screen Savers
Screen savers are known to cause problems when running
Best Math Program Ever. Please disable them beforehand.
Windows 95
If you are running Best Math Program Ever under
Windows 95, problems may occasionally occur when
switching from the game to a Windows application.
Some of these include an improper changing of the color
palette, a disappearing cursor or a halting of the
game. If you notice any of these problems, exit and
restart the game.
Video Drivers and Video Boards
If you experience problems running Best Math Program
Ever software, particularly incorrect functionality,
erroneous color display or possibly even crashes, you
can try the following steps to resolve the problem:
- Make sure you are running the appropriate driver for
your video card.
(check using Windows Setup in the "Main" Program Group)
- Make sure you are using a 640x480 resolution driver
which is providing 256 colors.
- Make sure you have the latest version of your video
board display driver.
(contact your video board manufacturer for more
information.)
Maximizing Performance
Best Math Program Ever manipulates large amounts of
animation and video data. Quitting all other
applications before running Best Math Program Ever will
maximize the memory available to the title. Performance
will also be greatly enhanced by the use of a double
speed or better CD-ROM drive.
